We offer a number of coverage areas. On this page you will find a short summary of the areas that are covered under L’Ortye insurances, but for the full description, and the subsequent conditions, we direct you to the policy conditions. There are 4 different coverage areas, with each complementing the option before it. Each option accompanies a map containing the exact limits of the coverage area.

1. European Inland Waters + 10 miles from the coast

If you choose for the option ‘European inland waters’, we will cover you for all inland waters in Europe, plus the coastal waters of Europe with a limit of 10 nautical miles from the coast.

2. European Seas

If you choose the option ‘European Seas’, in addition to coverage area 1: ‘European Inland Waters’, L’Ortye will also provide coverage on all European seas, as long as you stay within the following markers.

  • 73 degrees northern latitude
  • 23 degrees northern latitude
  • 30 degrees western longitude
  • 35 degrees eastern longitude

3. Caribbean Seas (+ European Seas)

If you choose for coverage option 3, ‘Caribbean Seas’, in addition to coverage package 2, ‘European Seas’, L’Ortye will also cover your trip and stay on all Caribbean seas, as long as you stay within the following markers.

  • 73 degrees northern latitude
  • 10 degrees northern latitude
  • 90 degrees western longitude
  • 35 degrees eastern longitude

Unlike the other options, the limits of this coverage option are visible in the map accompanying this option.

During Hurricane season, there will not be any coverage for loss or damage, caused by storms or hurricanes in category 1 to 5 of the Saffir Simpson Scale (Hurricanes), during a period of 1 July until 31 October of every year, within the following limits.

  • 35 degrees northern latitude
  • 13 degrees northern latitude
  • 90 degrees western longitude
  • 55 degrees western longitude

4. World Coverage

If you choose for the final option in our list of coverage areas, ‘World Coverage’, you and any accompanying occupants will be covered worldwide for your entire trip.

In addition to the exclusion of the Carribean area named in option 3, there will not be any coverage for loss or damage, caused by storms or hurricanes in category 1 to 5 of the Saffir Simpson Scale (Hurricanes), during a period of 1 July until 31 October of every year, within the following limits.

  • 7 degrees northern latitude
  • 45 degrees northern latitude
  • 98 degrees eastern longitude
  • 150 degrees eastern longitude
